Professor Andrews is an expert on comparative politics, especially democratization, corruption, institutional design, and politics in Central and Eastern Europe.  In recent work she has analyzed the implications of executive structure and strength on corruption and democratic performance in Europe and in emerging democracies.  In earlier work, Prof. Andrews examined institutional failure in Russia's first democratic legislature (When Majorities Fail: The Russian Parliament, 1990-1993, Cambridge University Press).  A copy of her curriculum vitae is here.
