Rio Park (PhD 2025) has published an article, "Green Industrial Policies in the Eyes of the Beholder: A Survey Experiment on Public Support for Climate Policy", in Political Science Quarterly. In this article, she examines whether different ways of framing climate action can garner more public support. She uses a survey experiment to show that when participants are shown information about climate policy that includes protectionist elements, such as limiting subsidies to domestic producers, they do not tend to be any more or less supportive of green industrial policy than when protectionist elements are not included. She notes that her results "suggest the political payoff often attributed to protectionist climate framing does not materialize at the mass level, even if such appeals may serve elites or organized interests elsewhere. This study contributes to the growing body of works documenting how difficult it is to expand climate support through framing alone." https://doi.org/10.1093/psquar/qqag083
