CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS

Shalini Satkunanandan's research is in the history of political thought and she is especially concerned with the relations between ethics and politics and between faith and politics.

She is working on a book manuscript that traces accounts of conversions away from moralized morality in the thought of Plato, Kant, Nietzsche, Weber, and Heidegger and shows how these conversion narratives can shed light on the kind of non-moralized but ethically inflected practical stance that befits a political actor.
