          Edmond Costantini has published on a range of topics such as the motivations and personality characteristics of political activists, public opinion on environmental issues and on affirmative action, environmental policy making in the Lake Tahoe basin, libel law, juror prejudice, women and politics, the party registration-party vote relationship, and California politics. 

          His work appears in such scholarly journals as Law and Society Review, Judicature, Journal of Law and Politics, Youth and Society, Western Political Quarterly, American Politics Quarterly, Political Behavior, Environment and Behavior, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Politics, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Political Psychology and Legislative Studies Quarterly.  Additionally, he coauthored CALIFORNIA POLITICS AND PARTIES (Macmillan), has authored a number of monographic works, and has written articles appearing in such non-academic publications as California Journal.  Further, he has testified before various legislative committees and been an expert witness or provided affidavits in various state and federal courts.

          Costantini has been an active participant in University governance, having served as member or chair of a number of Academic Senate Committees, as Chair of the faculty of the UCD College of Letters & Sciences, as Chair of the UC Davis Faculty Association, and --for seven years -- as Chair of the UC Davis Political Science Department.

          Additionally, he worked at NBC News in New York, served as Education Secretary to California's Governor, held various campaign management positions, has served on a county grand jury, and has been associated with the University of Essex in England, UC Berkeley's Institute of Personality Assessment Research and Institute of Governmental Studies, and UC Davis' Institute of Governmental Affairs.

          Costantini's political activities have included membership in California delegations to national party conventions (including the 1968 Democratic National Convention) and, for many years, on the Executive Board of the California Democratic Party.  He has been Director of the Political Campaign Management Institute (presented by UC Extension, Davis) since 1985.

          He is currently president of the UC Davis Emeriti Association and serves as Faculty Assistant to the University of California's Vice Provost for Academic Initiatives.
